How to create own blog site free

Have you been thinking of creating your own website? If yes, then you have come to the right place. In this article, we will discuss how to create own blog site free in a breeze.

Anyone can create own blog site free. Whether you are a tech-savvy person or not, it is possible for anyone to create own blog site free by following simple steps mentioned below.

The next step involves deciding what type of website you want to build. After choosing that, look for a web hosting service provider who offers excellent features and services at a reasonable price. When selecting the service provider, make sure that they offer proper tools and user-friendly interface for building your website.

Choose a blogging platform.

  • WordPress: WordPress is a popular blogging platform that is often recommended for its ease of use and powerful features. WordPress comes in two flavors: hosted, also known as “WordPress.com”; and self-hosted, also known as “WordPress.org”.

Hosted WordPress may be the easiest option, but it comes with some restrictions such as limited storage space, advertising on your blog and not being able to monetize your blog. On the other hand, if you choose to self-host your WordPress blog there are no such restrictions and you can earn money from your site with custom ads or affiliate links. Bloggers who have an established readership can also make extra income by joining paid membership sites which charge visitors a monthly fee for access to premium content.

If you are interested in starting a self-hosted WordPress blog then we recommend Bluehost as they offer free domain registration with their hosting packages (which start from under $3 per month). We will be using Bluehost in this tutorial where we explain how to create a website step by step .

Using static hosting for free like netlify

The simplest way to get started is by using a static site host like [Netlify](https://netlify.com). Static site hosting is a type of web hosting that allows for easy integration with a Github repo, and then easily deploys your static website files. Netlify offers free static site hosting. Yes, for free!

When you deploy your site on netlify, you can use their default subdomain, or add a custom domain (which will cost a few dollars). Relevant to this post though, I used the free plan and subdomain approach. You can see my [site](marniegit.netlify.app) as an example.

You are not limited in the software you choose to use to make your blog page/website either. You can even use these services with something like Jekyll or Hugo (static site generators) if you want!

Benefits of using a static website

There are many benefits of using a static website over dynamic websites.

First, static websites are faster than dynamic websites. Since static websites don't have to make calls to a database or run scripts for every page view, they load much quicker than sites that use a CMS (content management system) such as Wordpress.

Static sites are also more secure than dynamic sites because there are fewer security vulnerabilities in static HTML files versus databases and server-side scripts like PHP.

Static site generators are easy to build and maintain since they simply take plain text content (such as Markdown), apply a template, and convert it into HTML pages. Dynamic sites require you to update their core software and plugins on a regular basis. This is fine if you're using managed web hosting services like Pantheon or WP Engine but can be a pain if you're managing your own VPS (virtual private server).

Pick a domain name.

"There are so many choices out there, and you don't want to pick a domain name that will be available when you actually want it. You want something memorable. Something that is clearly linked to your character or your business. Take some time to think about what your name is going to be, how it's going to sound, and how you're going to spell it."

"You don't have to have a business or be an entrepreneur in order for one of these domains to work. If you're like me and just write blogs, you can choose something that is relevant but not too obvious."

Get a web host.

Now you need to tell people where your site is located.

That’s where a web host comes in. A web host is basically a company that has many computers connected to the Internet. When you place your web pages on their computers, everyone in the world will be able to connect to it and view them.

You will need to sign up for an account with a web host so that your website has a home. If getting a domain name is analogous to getting a business name in the brick-and-mortar world, getting a web hosting account is comparable to renting office or shop premises for your business.

Web hosts grant access to clients through either dedicated servers or shared servers that are not exclusively used by any one client; as such, neither party has direct physical access to the hardware itself and needs instead rely on third-party infrastructure management software, typically provided by either the hosting provider or an independent provider of server control panel software (such as cPanel).

Set up your blog.

Now that you have a place to host your blog, it's time to install WordPress. In the next few steps, I'll walk you through exactly how to do this.

Don't worry if some of the technical terms sound complicated - we've got step-by-step instructions and pictures to guide you along the way!

Customize your blog.

  • Pick a theme that fits your style. Choosing the right theme for your blog is crucial because you don’t want to spend a lot of time customizing it only to find out that it doesn't fit your style. Themes are basically the layout and design of your blog, and they make your blog mobile-responsive and easy to read on any device. Most themes are also easy to customize so you can add background images, change link colors, or customize header images with just a few clicks. We recommend using the free themes from WordPress since these are optimized for speed and work best with our platform. If you need more customization options, there are also paid WordPress themes available.

It’s important to know what kind of feel you want for your blog before picking a theme because there isn’t an option to change how it looks later on unless you switch themes entirely.

Write content for your blog.

You were thinking of starting a blog, and you had your topic picked out. You truly wanted to share your passion and knowledge with the world, so you started working on your blog.

You didn't find it easy to start writing. You felt like you were behind the eight ball. You didn't know what a grammar checker was, or what proofreading meant. Or if computer code really even had periods in it. It was hard to catch up because you didn't know how to begin, but as soon as you did, your posts came rolling out of your fingertips like they'd been written by someone else all along.

But then some days would come where you felt that nothing interesting would come from writing anymore. This is frustrating when you have something new and exciting on the brain, but no idea where to start it! When this happens, it's time for another post, because there are always more things to learn about and talk about:

Optimize your site for search engines (SEO).

Now that you've created a blog site, it's time to optimize your website for the search engines. This is going to be a critical aspect of getting your blog found on the web and building traffic - so don't skip it! Here are some tips for SEO:

  • Choose a good name for your blog site. This will help with SEO and make it easier to find in search results.

  • Write good content on topics that people are searching for, but don't use too many keywords or keyword stuffing as that can hurt your rankings instead of helping them. Use tools like Google Keyword Planner or Moz Keyword Explorer to find keywords and see how competitive they are before writing content around those terms (and always err on the side of caution when choosing what keywords you'll use).

  • Make sure each post has its own meta description, title tag and image alt text - these things all contribute towards improving rankings in search engines like Google!

Create own blog site free

Though some might argue that the only thing better than creating a blog entirely from scratch is creating one completely free of charge, we disagree. Some of the best things in life are worth paying for. In this case, you’re paying for:

  • The ability to build a site anytime, anywhere with an internet connection.

  • Help and support from real people whenever you need it.

  • A domain name that actually makes sense (no more awkward urls!).

  • A fast website that people can actually visit on a daily basis without feeling like they’re waiting forever to load pages or images on their screen.

Conclusion
