How To Make A Living Blogging About Movies

How To Make A Living Blogging About Movies

Every day, millions of people around the world search for content online. They want articles and blogs that touch on their interests, and they want to share these articles with their friends.

That’s where you come in! People are searching for your unique writing style! And if you can make it easy for them to find your content and share it with others, then you will be well on your way to building a successful blog that attracts readers who love reading about movies.

But how do you attract new readers? It all starts with SEO (Search Engine Optimization). If your blog is optimized for SEO, then it will appear higher in search results than other blogs that focus on the same topics as yours. But what exactly does “optimized for SEO” mean? Basically, it means that there are certain keywords in an article or blog post that Google recognizes as being related to its topic; when people conduct searches using these keywords or related terms, Google will show them results based on those keywords first before showing any other results from other websites.

In order to optimize your content for SEO success:

Why you should start blogging about movies

Blogging About Movies is a great way to share your knowledge and experiences with the world. It can be a fun outlet for you to express your creativity and share your passion. Blogging About Movies also provides an incredible opportunity to make money, either as a supplement to your income or as a full-time job.

Benefits of Blogging About Movies

That's a big question that depends on a number of factors, but there are plenty of benefits to becoming a movie blogger.

  • You can make money. Even if your income is sporadic or it takes you a while to make anything, the potential is there to do so.

  • You can build an audience. The more people who know about your blog, the more likely they'll read it and recommend it to others.

  • You'll gain a reputation as an expert in your field (or at least as someone who knows what he or she is talking about). This can open up new job opportunities and help you get ahead in other areas of life (getting out of jury duty? not having to debate for hours about which "Star Wars" movie was best?). 4) Free stuff! As your blog becomes more popular, those free passes start rolling in from distributors who want reviews before their movies hit theaters; you may even get hooked up with free trips and other cool perks just by being known in this industry! 5) If nothing else happens from all this hard work... then at least now you've got something fun to talk about during interviews! ;)

Write about movies that interest you.

The first rule of writing about movies is to write about movies you care about. This one is obvious, but it's important nonetheless. You should be able to talk about your favorite films for hours on end, and the same should go for whatever you decide to write about professionally. If you aren't particularly interested in a subject, it will show in your work.

If there are any topics that you're more well-versed in than others (e.g., Bollywood cinema), use them to your advantage; they could become areas of specialty that make you stand out from other writers who may be covering similar topics elsewhere. By the same token, if there are really popular film genres or franchises that people are always talking about but don't personally interest you much at all (e.g., the Marvel Universe), then perhaps those aren't the best ones to write about unless all you want is for people to read your work—which isn't necessarily a bad goal by any means! But don't feel obligated either way: Just because everyone else is writing articles like this one doesn't mean that it's what gets YOU excited and motivated everyday :)

How do you start blogging about movies

As you may have noticed, there's a lot of money to be made blogging about movies. However, it doesn't just come to those who sit around and wait for the money to show up. A successful movie blog requires a great deal of work and dedication. If you're willing to put in the effort, not only could you make some extra cash on the side or even provide yourself with a full-time income as a movie blogger, but you could also earn some serious perks along the way.

In addition to potentially being paid for your reviews, people will start sending you free books and DVDs in the hopes that they'll get coverage on your site. Publicists may also invite you to free screenings or feed you free food at parties. All of these things are nice perks, but if this is something you're doing for fun more than anything else then do not let them become important enough that they take away from your enjoyment of what is (or at least should be) primarily a hobby for you.

Review movies for free.

You can pretty much get anything you need in order to write a blog about movies, completely free.

Movie previews are always free if you're a member of the press, and film companies often give away DVDs if you ask nicely. Free promotional books and memorabilia are also readily available if you decide to review them on your blog. If traveling is your thing, then review movies for free by joining the movie's publicity campaign, where they'll take care of all your travel expenses and some meals (this is called an "all-expenses paid trip"). And finally, search engines love movie blogs because they have plenty of keywords in their posts—so expect as much free advertising as you'd like!

Don't rely on Google Adsense or affiliate links to make money.

When you are just starting out, Google Adsense and affiliate links can be helpful for bringing in a bit of cash here and there. However, it’s not the best way to make a living. A good blogger doesn’t rely on unreliable sources of income. That’s why they don’t just have ads on their site or write articles with lots of affiliate links.

They make money in other ways, too. For example, they:

  • Sell ad space on their site

  • Sell products (like e-books) on their site

  • Get paid to promote products on their site (through sponsored posts)

  • Get paid to write for other sites/magazines/newspapers

  • Get paid to speak at events

  • Get paid to teach people how to blog

Talk to other bloggers.

You should absolutely talk to other bloggers out there, whether in person or online (social media and blogs are great for connecting with people). It's really important to get feedback from others, especially fellow bloggers. Get to know the publishers and editors of the sites you read and trust. Ask them questions about how they got started, what they've learned along the way, and what they might look for in a new writer. The more you can learn from others who have already made it in this industry, the better chance you'll have as well!

You can get a job reviewing movies if you have the right expertise and contacts.

This is the hardest way to make a living writing about movies, but it can also be one of the best paying. You get to spend your days watching movies and then talking about them for a living! But you will have to have a ton of experience, connections in the industry and be willing to move anywhere that has work available. This is definitely not an easy thing to do and if you want tips on how to break into this field I would highly recommend following my friend John August's blog because he knows everything there is to know about breaking into Hollywood as a screenwriter and they share some common tactics.

So there you have it! The right approach to blogging about movies will help you make a living doing it. But don’t expect that this is going to be an easy ride. It will take years of hard work, writing about movies every day and finding out what works for you and your audience. It is also important that you never copy someone else’s success formula as what might work for others might not work for you.

Remember, this is going to be the hardest thing that you have ever done in your life – but if you are passionate enough, then it will all pay off in the end. So put on your thinking cap, get those creative juices flowing and start writing!
